Current Craving helps you find dishes you want and order them straight from local food businesses. This page explains what we collect, why we need it, and who else sees it.

What we collect

When you order: the name and mobile number you give at checkout, what you ordered, a delivery address if you choose delivery, and the order’s status. The business you order from sees these so it can make and hand over your food.
When you pay by card: you pay the business directly through its own payment provider (Stripe or Square). Your card details go to that provider, not to Current Craving. We keep only whether the payment went through and the amounts.
If you make an account: your email address and a securely scrambled (hashed) password, or the sign-in Apple or Google confirms if you continue with them.
My taste: the allergies, dislikes and preferences you choose. Without an account they stay in a cookie on your browser for 30 days; with an account they are saved to it.
Searches and Menu Muse: what you type or say when you look for food, and menu photos you scan. Voice is turned into text by your own browser.
Businesses: the business details, menus, prices and photos an owner adds, and the owner’s account.

How we use it

To show you dishes, place and track your order, text you about it, keep accounts secure, and fix things that break. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers.

Text messages

If you give a mobile number at checkout, we text that number about that order only — for example, when your food is ready. We do not send marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts.

Who else handles it

We use a small set of service providers, only to run Current Craving:

Vercel runs the website.
Neon stores our database and photos.
Stripe or Square takes card payments for the business you order from.
Twilio sends order texts.
OpenRouter runs the AI that reads scanned menus and helps match what you describe to dishes.
Apple or Google, only if you choose to sign in with them.

Cookies

We use cookies only to make the site work: keeping you signed in, holding your cart, remembering recent orders and your taste choices on this device, and keeping you at a shared Menu Muse table. Choosing “Save my info” at checkout keeps your name and number on this device only.
